When I was a kid, we used to make up songs to remember things.
This my friends, is a pretty decent song to remember.
Shout out to my search specialist Constant for the link!

Yahoo's New US Branding

Ok so at the NYC Ad Week last week, Yahoo decided to showcase it's new branding.
I'm excited to see how this goes and HOPE TO GOD they bring it to Canada to save their current ad campaign. Reason being:
MSN.ca recently released it's newest branding to the Canadian Market- a spin on the MSN butterfly...
Although I think lots of consumers out there were still go with their homepage choices, and their regular browsing habits - thinking about portals as a brand of choice does say alot about how publishers believe consumers navigate the interwebs.
Any way you look at it tho - it sure as hell beats out this overly weird creature thing they put into the world!
Hey Yahoo! I know you're targeting women and all - but a lil purple dreadlock thing giving you fashion and cooking advice? Come on - let's get a lil deeper...

And is is just me or did you spot a subliminal message in the Yahoo Branding video?

Ok so it's no big surprise....Stephanie Pratt is on twitter.
The "star" of a reality show, groomed by the best in the business is plugged in.
What the site talks about, I still have no idea - being a self-proclaimed ad-geek, and someone who clearly judges (by the tone of this post, you can prolly see where this is going) websites by the advertisers on it....I saw what ads her ad network/representation (or lack thereof) was spewing out and went straight to judgement...
Turns out this poor celebutant wannabe doesn't get the good ads....no....she gets ads about Bulimia clinics - oh, and teeth witening ads, and weight loss banners.

The "star" of a reality show, groomed by the best in the business is plugged in.
I'll be the first to say that the "what the hell is this girl going to possibly say" bug kindof hit me one day while perousing verified celeb twitter accounts: and I followed her.
It's free - and she may have been mildly entertaining and a breath of fresh air amongst my othwewise very industry-honed tweets (or better yet, she might just start postin' hot pics of her and LC or something....god knows why I really followed her...anyways)
So earlier tonight - i'm on tweetdeck and boom - she tweets.
Get this stroke of pure PLEASE-DE-follow-me-genius: http://twitter.com/stephaniepratt/statuses/4302101063
Naturally, I'm thinking - ok boring - total mis-lead on the follow there...un-follow.
I'm about to click the button when i see she has a "website".
Not a blog...a "website" - and it's name says it all http://www.allstephpratt.com/
Celebutant has a site - click to see...it's late - and in case it isn't totally obvious I CLEARLY need a break from my work.
And.
Like.
OMG!
It's like totally supported by ads.
Genius!!!!!!
What a great way to make cash Steph!
Bank on whatever quasi celeb pull you have!
Because some advertisers (not this one), are actually willing to you cash for impressions on your website. YOU can make more cash....dollars to fund your partying habit and your surgeries!

Then i thought to myself...
Am I being too harsh? Maybe Steph Pratt is an interesting person.
Maybe advertisers SHOULD pay money to be on her site.
Maybe I should write a post on how harsh being considered remnant inventory is.
Maybe, she's just a victim of bad buyer targeting.
BUT HELLS NO.
It's the same remnant isht* every network runs.
Alongside belly fat ads and get rich quick schemes.
The modern day infomercial.
Why is she letting this happen? FOR MONEY.
So to resume:
A) Don't open ur doors to an ad network just to make cash.
B) Judge a site by the quality of its ads.
C) Don't watch the Hills bcuz LC's not even on anymore.
Lesson learned.
Get these beauties:
Kseniya Simonova, Ukraine's Susan Boyle?
This is the type of video that makes me happy Youtube exists: a Ukrainian aspiring sand-animation artist. It's absolutely mesmerizing, even if I don't understand any of the words.
She may not be at 75 million yet with her 2+ million, but I definitely think this is talent. Thank you Youtube!

Ok, so Andrea Doyon is a Modern Day Genius - I've met him a couple of times before (when this baby of his demo'd below was in it's infancy stage). For those of you who don't know who he is, Andrea Doyon is the shiney head behind HUE Web Studio where he resides as the co's President. His baby - known as Noiz is now out there for all to beta at http://www.noiz-analytics.com/
Noiz's first tutorial (posted a near month ago) shows how geeks everywhere can use Noiz's Search Engine Monitoring report (get this...for free).
The vid below provides a demo of how powerful the tool actually is. And honestly, it's amazing. I will prolly get lotsa isht* for recco-ing this....but props are due here to Hue.
His second tutorial illustrates how you can use...again...for free...the Noiz system to monitor blogspeak, twitter, newsfeeds and the like for your brand. Yes, that's right - it's time to get ur feet wet geekers...cuz it's all about the soft skills.
What be your thoughts? I'm sure he's monitoring this right now...lol

Massive props to my friend Theo for posting this, but I can't help but repost it.
I have never in my entire life had so much fun listening to a children's jingle.
