The Best Job in the World

As the week winds down, I want to share this great campaign with everyone.
I love how simple this idea is in the begining and just builds up so much.

Google Wave Pulp Fiction

As Paolo wrote a few months back, we are really excited to try out Google Wave, but have yet to receive an invitation.

In the mean time, I'm enjoying all the great videos out there.

Here's one that's particularly entertaining:

Thanks to @GuillaumeBrunet for sharing it!

News of the Kawasaki Variety

Ok, so I was just briefed on a project that I seriously adhere to and I'm freaking out on how I'm actually allowed to talk about for the first time (before it hits) on my personal blog. Nutso!!!

Ok so the scoop:

Guy Kawasaki is coming to Montreal for an event organized by a company called Challenge Your World.

Guy's been invited by Challenge Your World as the keynote speaker to talk about innovations and the use of social media in starting a business, in light of Canada's Global Entrepreneurship Week which is occuring November 16th through 22nd, 2009.

I'm going to have LOTS more to talk about by tomorrow - when I can finally meet the ppl from Challenge Your World (as i literally am writing this from my iPhone on my way out of the brief) but I'm using my personal blog and twitter accounts as soundboards for ideas.

If this blog post lifted any sort of interest to you, or to ppl you may know who might be interested in hearing Guy Kawasaki speak - drop your info in a comment and you can be d@mn sure I'll be contacting you!

More news to come!

Leather goods and Sean Connery

Ok so I'ma be the first to admit I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to high end clothing.

I worked in the industry for 4 yrs selling and buying , and I was good at it (or so i think...lol). I learned what makes ppl buy, what they think when they try the stuff on - and how to deliver on expectations of what ppl think clothes bring them. Very interesting - I ended up writing a research paper on the stuff in university ;) but that was a while ago.

All that to say that I learned the ropes and that it sticks with you.

That's why, when i see ads for high end clothing and goods, I go ape ish*t.

Not for the products themselves, but for what the ads are trying to communicate to the target market.

Now, this is my most recent ad fetish: Sean Connery and Louis Vuitton.

Is there any better spokesperson to have signed to this campaign?

I know it's not the most recent ad campaign - but take a look at what it's saying.

His pants are still wet from the beach, the bag's clearly wet with salt water too. He doesn't care - he's looking off into the distance. He just so happens to be carrying a $4K duffle and a $7k watch. He's (as we'd say in the east end of montreal) "all worried".

He's Sean effing Connery.
Selling leather goods.
In Wired magazine.

Now I want the duffle - and the hat.

Happy Birthday Alexander Keith!

Nothing like a little Birthday wish to my good ol' friend Alexander Keith.

Thanks for making some damn good beer.

In case you're interested, Canada's throwing some pretty nifty birthday parties in his honor.

Finding that pub nearest you - where you can go celebrate it up is as easy as clicking HERE
