Oh, Canada?

For anyone who didn't know - http://www.moderndaygeeks.com/ is a CANADIAN owned and operated blog, run by 2 native Montrealers (wherever we just so happen to be is irrelevant - lol).

I just wanted to highlight the fact, on the opening day of the Vancouver 2010 winter games, that Cat and I are DAMN PROUD to be Canadians.

And as such, I've taken liking to a recent video that has crossed my twitter feed.

It's probably one of the better vids preaching Canadian pride, and here it is for your enjoyment.

Oh...Canada!

  1. Great vid. I'm probably more patriotic now that I don't live in Canada, and taking every chance I have to enlighten people here what our glorious nation has to offer (I like to call it the promised land), but I must say that I felt a little embarrassed when I heard about truck loads of snow having to be transported to the competition, not to mention the terrible luge incident...

In any case, even with the lack of snow, we're probably one of the countries that most values winter olympics - and I can't imagine a place like Barcelona hosting in 2022, they don't even know what luging is.

  2. Tks for the comment Vanessa.
I too was a little iffed to see that they were trucking in snow, but part of the reason that whistler didn't get the games before was for the weird conditions (remember this weekend's "mashed potatoes" weather in men's Biathlon?).

BC is probably one of the most beautiful places in the world, and one of those special geographic regions that can have you play a round of golf in the AM and hit the slopes in the PM...so I'm totally good with that.

    Proud to be a Canuck!
